Pre-View: Why I Became an Atheist
Why I Became an Atheist: A Former Preacher Rejects Christianity
by John W. Loftus
I intend to review this book fully after I have had some time with it. Let me just say a few words now to give you a taste.
First of all, this guy is smart. He is no anti-intellectual. He has read extensively and thought deeply on the subjects he treats. Some readers may disagree with his conclusions, but his scholarship seems very good.
Second, he is not afraid to jump right into the fire from the very start. The chapter titled, "The Outsider Test For Faith" was so good I re-read it three times to make sure I didn't miss anything. It should be required reading for all thinking people, regardless of their religious/spiritual persuasion.
I am trying to really take this book in, so it may be a while before I do a complete review. If you're looking for a recommendation, would offer a very enthusiastic one, despite the early going. Read this book.

I did a Google search for the title of my book and came across your blog. Thanks so much for liking what I wrote!

You're welcome, John. I intend to write an actual review when I get a little time to myself. It's great to hera from the author. If you have a links section on your web site, maybe you'll link to the (eventual) review.
Be well,
Codswallop (The Perfect Fool)
